Beach House Take Care

MP3: Take Care

Daytrotter have put up four live Beach House sessions. The tracks are from the amazing new album Teen Dream, out now on Bella Union, and you can hear the rest here.

Brand New Trademark

Trademark have been around the block. They self released their first 'proper' album, and signed to Truck for two national releases; they've toured large UK halls with The Human League; they've had national radio airplay and big league press acclaim. You could say Trademark are veterans of the whole being-in-a-band thing.

The band actually started decades ago, when two of the members were children, but the longer they run, the better they get. There's a feeling on their new "At Loch Shiel" EP of a band that have become absolute masters of what they do. Each and every Trademark song is a highly refined, polished, textured and stylized pop gem.

And so it is with "Brand New", the lead track from the new EP, performed live in the footage below at lead singer Oli Horton's Dalston recording studio, DREAMTRAK. It's fantastic. Long live Trademark!

Of Mice & Frightened Rabbits

MP3: Nothing Like You (Live @ The BBC)

Good little song, this. Respectable, solid, exciting, feels-like-first-love indie music, wahey.

Twilight Sad have also had a go at remixing Errors latest - hear the results here. Sounds a lot like a certain melodic noise duo that have been on the up in recent years.

Peace & Bitches

MP3: Can Not Love

Staz and Blake are Bitches. They are two people from Oxford who like swimming and Nintendo and live in an old hotel in East London. They make battering, brutal fuck 'n' roll with two arched eyebrows and four swirling eyes. It is exciting and solid, which makes it sound like something rude. It probably is like something rude.

Tzjek 'em out.

Everything Falling Apart

MP3: Ark Drum

New Warp Records signing Nice Nice have released a video for "Everything Falling Apart" from their forthcoming debut album "Extra Wow". If you're reading this on the Facebook feed, the video won't be visible so click here to see. It's great stuff. Swirling psychedelic noise, at times reminiscent of No Age, Lightning Bolt or Boredoms. The new single, "See Waves" is out Feb 8th.

Reactivated Swans

Young God Records instigator Michael Gira is to work again under the Swans monicker. He sent out a stement today.

"Hello There,

I have decided to focus my energy on Swans once again. I'm reactivating that project. A new album is in the works, and touring will follow in fall of 2010. In order to help raise funds / help defray the considerable costs of recording and promoting the new album, I have made a special CD/DVD limited edition handmade package called "I Am Not Insane" available exclusively at the YGR website. You can read about the CD/DVD, and my decision to reactivate Swans at this link:

Thanks Very Much, and God Bless You,

Michael Gira / Swans / Angels Of Light / Young God Records"
